A less traditional sense of reading used in economics is that of the stock market. Part of my 30 day challenge is maintaining a fictional stock portfolio. The Stock Market itself takes a certain reading and is a unique talent only few are capable of. Over the past few days I have begun trying my luck at the process and found it very difficult so far. Many of the factors contributing to the rises and decline of share prices are not visible to the untrained eye and take great analysis along with knowledge to depict. So far I have made positive gains in my portfolio, mainly due to beginners luck, but have slowly began to understand what influences the market. Over the next 24 days i will continue this for of nontraditional ”reading” expressed by Maguel and hope to become somewhat skilled in the economics of stock trading.

Today i explored the blog of the economist (http://theeconomist.tumblr.com/) and learned many interesting things pertaining to my topic. 

Revision-Many things influence the economy (Year of the Dragon ha). Economics is more than just money. Also involves things like military supplies and entire business cycle.

Arrangement- Many posts, narrative opinions while including factual evidence for credibility.

Invention-More than just money in economics. National economics and their importance.

Delivery- Curious to explore more and determine my own opinions on the economy.

Style- Sometimes sarcastic, light mood. Complete sentences and thoughts, many visual examples and additions.
